Errors not allowing my users to send a message and begin to interact

The Problem:
Users log into the application and get one of three errors:

“Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'developer')”

“An error occurred while generating the response. Please try again.”
"Failed to generate response. Please try again."

The application allows the user to type and send a message, but does not respond.

I have 5 users reporting issues, all using various operating systems and browsers.

The Application:

  • All required fields are filled in.

  • The prompt tells the agent to access a document uploaded as a .docx file in the knowledge base and follow the instructions step by step there.

  • I’ve tried both Claude 3.5 reasoning and GPT 4.1 as models.

  • No pro or custom actions.

  • There is a custom logo and brand color.

  • There is a description and conversation starter

  • Basic actions are: file upload, URL retrieval, browse web, and search knowledge base (all are required)

What I’ve tried:

  • I have cleared the cache on my end.

  • Checked all settings.

  • Turned off whitelisting

  • Built a completely new version of the Chipp

  • Double checked the prompt and knowledge base are uploaded correctly
