Cite sources and Cross-Chipp chat conflict in passed URLs

We have a “master” consultant bot that is instructed to ask questions of a bunch of specific software support bots and return those answers. If I turn on “cite sources” on the master bot, Chipp seems to be appending some internal id number to some or all of the hyperlinks passed from the other bots.
https://software.sil.org/flextrans/ is correct, but not https://software.sil.org/flextrans/[8785939]
Disabling Cite sources on the master bot fixes the error.
